Abstract
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain: (1) contents and importance of zoogeography, (2) basic terms (e.g. biocycle, biochore, distribution – range, endemite, cosmopolite, geoelement, faunistic element etc.), (3) Zoogeographical division of Earths surface – zoogeographic regions, (4) Segmentation of the Palearktic region and zoogeography of the CR; (5) to characterize fauna of particular zoogeographic regions (palearktic, nearktic, african, oriental, australian, neotropic and antarktic) a (6) to explain reasons of occurrence particular groups of animals only on certain continents.

Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Students, instead of classical seminary works, will prepare ppt-presentations containing comprehensive characteristics of particular zoogeografical regions: palearktic, nearktic, afrotropic, oriental, australian, neotropic a antarktic.
