Course objectives
Outline of the basic theoretical knowledge of phonetics of Russian language and its graphic formulation in the comparison of Czech-Russian plan. Russian pronunciation and its characteristic.
Syllabus
  • 1. The Subject of Phonetics. Phonetics and Phonology. 2. Articulatory Phonetics. Vocal cords. Organs of speech. 3. Speech sound formation and classification. Consonants, vowels. 4. Elements of Phonetic system. Suprasegmental and segmental units. 5. Suprasegmental units. Dynamics, rhythm, melody. Differences in comparison with Czech language. 6. Intonation construction 1 7. 7. Accent: Types and place. 8. Reduction. Basic reduction positions. 9. Rhythm. Rising and falling melody. 10. Segmental units. Vowels and consonants phonic, articulatory, and functional positions. 11. Vowels. Classification. Labialization. 12. Consonants. Pronunciation. Division according to different criteria. 13. Assimilation, dissimilation, dieresis, orthoepy, orthography.
