Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: - understand and to interpret organism phylogenesis patterns - interpret and to illustrate separate periods of human ontogeny - interpret the laws of human growth and development - alert to the dangers of mutagens, teratogens and carcinogens - interpet adaptability and variability of human structure (physical, behavioural, sociocultural) in the past and today
Syllabus
  • Phylogenesis/ontogenesis concepts, basic relations asserting in Homo sapiens recent (H. s. r.) evolution and in ontogenesis of an individual being. Ernest Haeckel’s basic law of biogenetics. Outline of H.s.’s phylogenesis – I. 2. Phylogenesis of H.s. – II. Mechanisms asserting in genesis and evolution of species. 3. H.s.’s ontogenesis stages – outline, short charakteristics. Races, racism. 4. Prenatal period (gametogenesis, blastogenesis, organogenesis, fertilization, preembryo, embryo). 5. Embryopathy. Mutagens, teratogens, carcinogens. 6. Prenatal period (fetus, fetopathy). 7. Perinatal period. Childbirth. 8. Infant – characteristics – premature, postmature, full term newborns. 9. Infant period, toddler period. 10. Prepubescence. 11. If he/she answers 50 questions correctly, they pass the test. After evaluation, a discusion follows in which the correct answers of previously asked questions are repeated abd explained again. b) theoretical part - a student answers and explains two teoretical topics from human ontohenesis and phylogenesis.
