Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to develop speaking, reading, writing and listening skills at the Upper-Intermediate Level. The basic study material is the coursebook New English File Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. At the end of the course students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level and communicate in the language fluently.

  • The basic study material is the coursebook New English File UPPER-INTERMEDIATE (Student's book and Workbook), see Literature bellow. The syllabus includes Units 3 - 5, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and development of students' vocabulary.

Assessment methods
Students have to prepare 2 presentations (70%) and pass the final test focused on the vocabulary and grammar covered during the term (70%) at the end of the term. Students have to prepare for lessons throughout the whole term, do homework for each class, and participate in class discussions.
