Course objectives
The subject deals with the forms of training the teaching of speech skills in a language class. Attention is paid to language instruments, typology of exercises and to various ways how to activate the teaching process. At the end of this course, students should be able: to define the speech skills; to explain their relation to grammar, lexicon, pronunciation and orthography; to create diverse examples; to apply the acquiered knowledges and skills at school.
Syllabus
  • 1. Listening with understanding: Types of listening exercises. Phases of training. 2. Reading with understanding: Concept, subject and goals of reading. 3. Oral utterance: Concept and goals. Typology of oral utterance. Evaluation and classification. 4. Written utterance: Concept, phases and methods of training. Correction of mistakes, evaluation.
