Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with contemporary Russia: geography, culture, architecture, customs and mentality of the population. Furthermore, to develop language skills and speaking skills. Students simultaneously develop their cultural and linguistic knowledge of the Russian language text reading, listening to Russian music, views movies. The course has to provide students a basic knowledge of Russian life, to bring relevant information to the geographic, cultural and political.

  • To the content of the subject was included in the following topics: 1. Painting.Russian museums. 2. Russian music. Folklore, classical music, original song. 3. Theatre. 4. Ballet. Djagilevˇs Russian seasons. 5. Cinematography. History and present of Russian and Soviet cinema. 6. Czech - Russian relations.

Teaching methods
6 contact hours - students work independently with the Russian-speaking lyrics. Lectures and presentations.
Assessment methods
Written test and oral examination from the taught material. Emphasis will be placed on the content, correct pronunciation and intonation. Students should be able to orientate themselves in the cultural - political life of contemporary Russia.
