- Course objectives
- • development of communicative competence in written form on level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR),
• exercising writing skills in different genres of written texts according to the level C2 of the CEFR. - Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, attendants should be able to write texts of the different genres defined by the CEFR on level C2.
- Syllabus
- 1. definition of the aims of the course and the learning outcomes necessary for successfully completing the course,
- 2. writing task I: summary of a journalistic text, analysis of stylistic, syntactic and lexical features of the genre,
- 3. written test I,
- 4. writing task II: essay on a current topic, analysis of stylistic, syntactic and lexical features of the genre,
- 5. written test II,
- 6. writing task III: letter to the editor, analysis of stylistic, syntactic and lexical features of the genre,
- 7. written test III,
- 8. revision for the final test: reading, hearing comprehension and writing,
- 9. evaluation of the course, self-reflection.

- Teaching methods
- Reading of the suggested literature and discussion of the content in class, presentation of the relevant features of texts of the different genres, assignment of writing tasks, joined corrections of the assignments.
- Assessment methods
- Students are evaluated on the basis of the written assignments handed in during the semester:
- one summary of a journalistic text,
- one essay on a current topic, - one letter to the editor.
In addition, students have to pass a written test at the end of the semester, where their productive language skills are assessed in accordance to level C2 of the CEFR - Language of instruction
