Abstract
Course Grammar 1B deals with English grammar at intermediate level. The main objective is to summarize and develop the students' knowledge of particular grammar points (see the Outline of the course below).
The main course book is Macmillan English Grammar In Context Intermediate. Also, students are expected to work on the corresponding units of English Grammar in Use - Fourth edition(by R. Murphy) on their own so that in classes the topics can be summarised and particular grammar points practised.
At the end of the course the students should be able to: distinguish differences between grammar structures, form complex sentences, give examples of their own, become competent users of the language.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level and communicate in the language fluently.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Methods: lectures, seminar work - class, group and pairwork, homework, drills.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Requirements: Progress test (50 points), journal (50 points), final written test (100 points). Maximum number of points per semester: 200 Pass mark: 140 (part of this sum is also the final written test, students must obtain at least 70% for this final test - if not: two resits of the final test are offered).

SPRING 2020: Piloting - the course is taught online. The progress test is also written online. PLEASE NOTE! Due to the quarantine in semester Spring 2020, the final credit test will be held via the Information system. The test will open to all students at the same time; students will be notified of the term three weeks prior to it.
