Course objectives
Aims: • vocabulary enlargement with the focus on pronunciation (work with texts for listening, reading, writing and speaking to be transferred into Ss personalized portfolio; • strengthening of language skills (grammar, pronunciation) level A2-B1; • developing language skills - level with the focus on the suprasegmental area of pronunciation (i.e. reading, speaking, listening, and writing with understanding).
Learning outcomes
understanding the phonemic chart dividing the phonemic chart into categories proper pronunciation of the individual phonemes of the chart proper pronunciation of the phonemes in words understanding: word and sentence strss linking
Syllabus
  • Phonetics and Phonology: suprasegmental area of English pronunciation - weak forms, linking, rhythm Practical language: Grammar: 1) Present perfect simple and continuous (předpřítomný čas prostý a průběhový); 2) comparatives (komparativy); 3) superlatives (superlativy); 4) infinitive + to (infinitiv + to); 5) verb + ing (slovesa + -ing); 6) auxiliaries (pomocná slovesa). Topics: 7) Feelings (pocity); 8) movement (pohyb); 9) asking for information (dotazování se na informace); 10) taking something back (přebírání věcí zpět); 12) experience (zkušenosti).
