- Course objectives
- The course's main objective is to develop speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills at the Intermediate Level (level B1 according to CEFR). The basic study material is the Outcomes Intermediate supplemented by various additional materials. Throughout the semester students are encouraged to link theory in the classroom to practice at schools via practical tasks. At the end of the course, students should be able to: discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level, and communicate in the language fluently.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, the students will develop speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills at the Intermediate Level (B1 according to CEFR); they will be able to discuss everyday topics, communicate in everyday situations, read and listen to authentic texts at the Intermediate Level and communicate in the language fluently. Developing English skills and encountering EFL methodology can help students prepare better for possible opportunities of teaching English to their future pupils.
- Syllabus
- The basic study material is the coursebook Outcomes INTERMEDIATE (Student's book), see Literature below. The syllabus includes Units 5 to 8, the focus is on speaking and listening activities and the development of students' vocabulary and grammar.

- Requirements: Maximum number of points per semester: 100 Pass mark: 70 (part of this sum is also the final written and oral test, students must obtain at least 70% for these final tests - if not: two resits of the final test are offered) Written test: 40 points Oral test: 30 points; Progress test: 10 points. Other types of continuous assessment: 20 points.
