- Abstract
- The main objective of the course is to develop students' competencies in Russian syntax and punctuation, with an emphasis on the differences between the Czech and Russian systems. The course aims at mastering the rules of Russian word order and the flawless use of punctuation in both simple and complex sentences, which is an essential prerequisite for writing professional and academic texts.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- apply Russian word order rules based on the functional sentence perspective;
- correctly use punctuation in sentences with isolated (non-restrictive) constructions, such as attributes, appositions, and adverbial modifiers;
- appropriately select and punctuate conjunctions in complex sentences (specifically the pairs если/ли and что/чтобы);
- flawlessly format citations and direct speech according to Russian typographic and grammatical standards;
- identify and correct punctuation errors resulting from Czech language interference.
