Abstract
Objectives of field practice: • get acquainted with various approaches and methods of cartographic creation, review and practically apply the principles in creating a map • orientate in unknown terrain (using topographic map, compass, GPS) • learn to determine and draw the marching angle of the route using a compass and process a topographic sketch • learn the basics of field mapping in creating a topographic and thematic map - landuse • evaluate landscape change during field research - use geoinformation technologies in the field
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, there will be students - Orientation in the field according to the map, compass and GPS, including the use of maps for orienteering - perform thematic mapping in the field and prepare a thematic map (landuse) - process a topographic map from various sources, including field research - be able to practically use mobile field applications
