Applicants enrol in courses of Czech for foreigners via an application form submitted at the Department of Czech for Foreigners (not via the MU Information System). - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- This course is a continuation of lexical and stylistic exercises II (CJQB03). The content of the seminar will be:- lexical and stylistic exercises (for example synonyms, homonyms, antonyms) – active usage of vocabulary from given conversational topics, - interpretation of text (that was heard and read) – essays to given topics. The aim of the course is to develop and practice Czech vocabulary and improve students’ knowledge and communications skills.
- Syllabus
- Lexical-stylistic exercises III base on knowledge and skills obtained by students in Lexical-stylistic exercise I (CJQB02) and Lexical-stylistic exercise II (CJQB03). 1) Exercises are based upon the special and belletristic texts during the seminar. The focus is put not only on the lexical part, but also, as in seminar CJQB03 on the stylistic stratification of the literary Czech language and non-literary forms (imaginative literature) and terminology (special texts). 2) Phraseology A/ during the seminar knowledge gained in CJQB03 will be improved and exercised B/ new subject matter will be also learned: a) proverbs b) phraseological forms linked with the names of animals c) phraseological forms linked with the parts of body d) phraseological forms expressing attention e) answer-back, fixed forms of short constructions and words

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical explanations during the course will be supplemented by practical exercises. Students will work with a text and write essays on given topics.
- Assessment methods
- Final written test. Besides the test, the following rules must be observed: 1/ In order to successfully finish the course, student's participation in the course must be at least 75 %. If student's participation drops below 75 %, he will not be allowed to write the final test. 2/ The students fullfils all tasks given by the teacher (homeworks, presentations etc.) Unpreparedness is judged as absence. 3/ Students must not switch study groups, unless the Head of Department of Czech for Foreigners explicitly approved it.
