Course objectives
The course is dealing with mediating knowledge and competences of Theatre studies, that usually listed courses of DTS don't cover or from close fields of studies (for example performance studies, theory of another arts etc.). The aim of the course is also to allow students insight into different research methods and to improve their language skills.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will:
- have wider notion of theatrological reasearch possibilities;
- know different methodologies of research in humanities;
- also be able to apply them;
- be able to understand expert lecture in English and talk about given topic.
Syllabus
  • Lecture and seminar of prof. Maria Sibinska (Institute of Scandinavian and Finnish Studies, University of Gdansk) focused on the National Sámi Theater Beaívváš (Beaivváš Sámi Našunálateáhter), the only theater playing in Sámi, the language of the original inhabitants of the northernmost part of the Scandinavian peninsula. Both lecture and seminar will be held in English. Detailed information will be published in September.
