Course objectives
Conversation and literature Why read if not to share our readings, share our favourites as well as our regrets and discuss the interest of our favourite works for ourselves as well as for others? It will be a question above all of conversing in French about literature in its broadest sense (popular novels, historical or philosophical essays, tales, poems, fables, etc., if possible outside the works of the compulsory programmes) and not only French. All themes may be addressed, from pleasure reading to escapism, from social reflection to ecology. They will be the basis for a broadening in the form of debates about a particular author, genre or social issue.
Learning outcomes
The student will have improved his/her ability to interact in French. They will be able to discuss in a constructed and argued manner and will master the codes of French argumentation. They will also have discovered a corpus of literary works according to a precise theme and will have enriched their literary knowledge and skills.
Syllabus
  • The course will be based on conversation according to themes and works defined in advance with the students. It is therefore organised around four axes: -the mastery of argumentation and the art of debating -lexical and grammatical development -literary knowledge -and above all, the improvement of oral production (from pronunciation to fluency)
