- The course falls into a group of optional courses focusing on competency-defined outputs. Emphasis is placed on introducing the culture of individual peoples from different continents, their traditions and their verbs. Based on the acquired knowledge and skills, it is then possible to realize creative studios that will focus on: - literary sources (folk verb, its traditions and development, characteristics, manifestations); - own output of the seminar group (poetic or theatrical band, exhibition, quizzes, own works based on the presented literature and typical genres, etc.)
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course student:
- knows the basic characteristics of the cultural traditions of the countries concerned, their importance and development;
- understands the roots and influences of these cultures both in the given country and their potential intersection, the impact on other cultures, their differences;
- is able to find these common elements connecting many countries and cultures, to distinguish the specifics of the country's culture; is able to pass on this knowledge and skills in an interesting creative form;
- is able to prepare a public presentation of a given culture by conducting a creative studio (literary, poetic, theatrical, creative, visual, combined, etc.), social game design or exhibition, if possible interactive. - Syllabus
- The theoretical part:
- - Initial focus: European states (France, England, Germany, Russia, Poland, Italy ...) / African states;
- - concepts of identity, culture, cultural differences, cultural change, stereotype, prejudice, discrimination, labeling, xenophobia, racism, intolerance, extremism;
- - stereotypes in the media;
- - assimilation, integration;
- - the impact of globalization and migration on society;
- - importance of knowledge of foreign languages and literature;
- - PR verbal and written, exhibitions, public activities Application part:
- - Creative studios according to the individual preferences of the study group;
- - presentation, writing of information texts
