Course objectives
The course is introducing basic terminology - conservation, rastauration, preparation and conservation management in museums. It is focusing closer to methods of conservation work and documentation of conservation.
Learning outcomes
- acquainting students with basic terminology - conservation, restauration, preparation;
- making students aware of methods of conservation work;
- making students aware of documentation of conservation
- plans of conservation management in museums
Syllabus
  • Introduction; basic terms, conservation, restauration etc.;
  • History of conservation in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia;
  • Conservation ethics; conservator and its role in museum; conservator and conservation lab an its role in museum;
  • Conservation lab - organisational scheme and equipments;
  • Documentation and conservation;
  • Basic data in documentation by drawing, photographs and video;
