Abstract
This course offers a brief introduction into the study of social and cultural issues in the Spanish speaking countries of Latin America.
Learning outcomes
The student has an overview of the contemporary social situation in the different Hispanic countries of the Latin American area and is able to place the cultural development in each period in a broader context.

Compulsory attendance (80%), home preparation and active participation in class. Presentation of the selected topic in class and submission of all assignments.
