Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to revise and consolidate what students have already learned, and to develop and extend their knowledge further. The seminars emphasize the correct use of grammar, the systematic expansion of vocabulary and the continuous development of receptive and productive language skills.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course students
-will understand authentic written and spoken texts - can have a regular conversation in the Spanish language, engage actively in discussions on familiar topics and defend their point of view; - will be able to write comprehensible texts on selected topics; - can adequately use the vocabulary of the topics discussed (see curriculum); - they will be well oriented in basic linguistic terminology and correct use of grammar. - Output level of language according to CEFR: B1+
Syllabus
The lexical part includes language skills training (listening, reading, speaking, and writing). Vocabulary will be developed within the following thematic units: Weather and atmospheric conditions; Tourism; Transportation; City; Family; Home and household Physical appearance; Character; Nutrition The grammar section covers the following topics: nouns (gender, number); adjectives; articles; pronouns; imperative; past tenses (indicative); use of the verbs ser and estar; future tense; conditional The written section covers: Punctuation; Types of paragraphs; Writing papers and exams; Oral and written expression; Argumentative text The part dedicated to language skills follows the topics covered in the lexical part.

Learning is based on -grammar exercises -expansion of vocabulary -listening and reading comprehension -class discussion and conversation -the 4 language skills are practiced through activities in the classroom and e-learning.

The course is taught annually.
Credit evaluation note: Studenti Mediterráních studií získají 4 kredity za absolvování blok Destrezas plus blok Gramatika nebo blok Expresión escrita. Studenti Španělského jazyka a literatury musí absolvovat všechny 4 bloky a ukonči předmět zkouškou za 7 kreditů.
