- Course objectives (in Czech)
- The course will consider aspects of Irish history,geography literature and other aspects of culture from a number of perspectives including those of national and regional identity, gender,sexuality,language and ethnicity. We will also look at specific events such as Plantation, the Great Famine, Home Rule, the Easter Rising and the Anglo-Irish and Civil Wars, as well as considering developments in the writing of twentieth century Irish poetry, drama and fiction. The latter will include consideration of the work of Wilde, Yeats, Joyce,Heaney, Friel,MacLaverty and na Dhomnaill, among others.
