Course objectives
Analytical Aesthetics is one of the most important streams in philosophical aesthetics in 20th century, as represented in the works of G. Frege, L. Wittgenstein, B. Russell or Pavel Tichý. Introdution into the problems and methods of the field.
Syllabus
  • Reading and critical commenting of some basic texts in English: 1. Dickie, George: The Triumph in Triumph of the Will; 2. Kivy, Peter: Platonism in Music: A Kind of Defense; 3. Herméren, Goran: Interpretation: Types and Criteria.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Final evaluation is stated on the base of written summaries required by the lector. Activity is also valued. Students are obliged to attend at least 80% of teaching.
