Course objectives

Selected topics from the history of the ancient French literature (up to the 16th century).

Syllabus

The stress will be put on: 1. Courtly culture: lyric and epic poetry 2. Anti-courteos literature: fable and fabliau 3. Medieval theatre 4. The Renaissance period as a new vision of the world and the man: new functions of the poetry, prose and drama
