Course objectives
At the end of this course, students should be able to: understand the difference between the quantitative and qualitative research methodology; use mainly qualitative data for etnological research; design their own research proposal; make decision about correct research method; interpret resuls according to chosen research methodology.

  • Methods and techniques in scientific work.
  • Qualitative and quantitative approach.
  • Research design. Academic writing. Use of literature.
  • Methods of field research, its forms.
  • Evaluation and interpretation of results.
  • Interview, Observation, Study of documents, Oral history.
  • Documentation.
  • Modern technologies in research - software, internet, virtual reality.
