- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain general problems of an auxiliary linguistic discipline - phonetics. Students will learn about scientific terminology and methods of phonetic research and will be able to use this knowledge in their further studies. Having passed this course, students will also be able to explain the process of speech production, to characterize speech sounds according to their properties and to apply the international phonetic transcription on concrete languages, in particular on Romance languages.

- VIII. Acoustic level of speech.
- IX. The prosodic organisation of speech.
- X. The metrical and temporal organisation of speech.
- XI. Intersegmental articulatory co-ordination.
