Course objectives
The studies in the 3rd year immediately follow the program of the practical part of studies of the 2nd year. Attention is focused on deepening speech abilities and of practical and theoretical knowledge of Italian, and especially of writing on various stylistical levels. Input competence (CEF A2), output competence (CEF C2).
Syllabus
  • Practical language teaching in the 3rd year continues by deepening language knowledge in the field of morphology, syntax and vocabulary. The explanation of the grammar features is based on the contemporary theoretical works and focuses on the paradigmatic structure and broader context. Use of the contemporary Italian language is stressed. The work in seminars draws upon texts from Italian press and contemporary literature and on work with authentic materials. Writing and listening tests are integral part of the seminar and the development of independent writing and oral abilities is supported through oral presentations and written assessments.

Teaching methods
Seminar, practice, drills, use of authentic materials, oral presentations in seminar, e-learning support.
Assessment methods
Credit - writing a seminar paper. The students must present the required number of written assessments as well as give an oral presentation in the seminar. Participation on the seminar is mandatory.
