- Course objectives
- At the end of the course studenst should be able to: understand and explain basic principles of the IS; understand and explain basic principles of system theory; create a project task and design of IS.
- Syllabus
- 1) Basic terminology of IS and databases 2) Analysis and design of IS Methodologies, methods, techniques, tools for tackling with the complexity of the system, system analysis, life cycles, thought processes on abstraction and concretization, 3 levels of abstraction, the principle of differentiation level, the principle of the three architectures, modeling principles. 3) Structured and object-oriented approach (OOA) Functional structures, Information flows, Context diagram, Data structures, ER models, methods of the behavior description, Flowcharts, State diagrams, Method of sequential function charts, Object-oriented modeling, advantages and disadvantages of OOS, OOS history - the creation of UML, UML - groups of artifacts, relationship diagrams (use case, sequence diagram, collaboration diagram, class diagram, state diagram, activity diagram, deployment diagram). 4) IS development methods Overview of structured methods, historical introduction to structured approach, list of object-oriented methods. 5) CASE tool History and evolution of CASE tools, general characteristics of CASE tools, the possibility of using tools MS Visio 2013 and other tools (including open source) 6) Analysis and design of IS in the enterprise Methods and approaches to the analysis system, Gross analysis and system design, Specification of system requirements, the requirements catalog, Detailed analysis and system design, Prototyping, Presentation of the analysis and design of IS, Negotiations during development of IS, customer customization . 7) Testing IS Basic concepts of the testing process, the phases of the testing process, Plan and test design, preparation, Implementation and evaluation of tests, Detection of faults and discrepancies in the system, Stress Testing System Acceptance tests, CASE tools. 8 ) Implementation of IS Introduction and basic terminology, Phasing of the implementation of IS, Work roles in the implementation process 9) Documentation of IS Standardization of documentation to corporate IS, Requirements to administrator documentation for corporate IS . 10 ) Management of IS development projects Basic concepts, Resources for project development, project life cycle, Organization of project management, project planning, project activities Decomposition, Decision analysis, network analysis, Management of project scope, scheduling and use of time reserves, Planning of financial costs, risk management, project management, documentation, Conclusion of the project. 11) System Integration The essence of system integration, development and levels of system integration, system integrator, Outsourcing of IS, Providing of IS services.
