Course objectives
At the end of the course Interpreting Seminar II, the student will have the knowledge on consecutive interpretation, on consecutive without notes and with notes. The student will also have a basic knowledge of the methods of practicing simultaneous interpretation, sight translation and interpretation with text.

  • 1) Bibliography to consecutive and simultaneous interpretation 2) Familiarization with the most common types of interpreting 3) Training of consecutive interpretation (without notes and with notes) 4) Introduction to methods of practicing simultaneous translation 5) Sight translation 6) Interpretation with text

Teaching methods
Acquisition of basic knowledge about the types of interpretation, and about the professional qualities of the interpreter. Practicing of consecutive interpretation with notes-taking. Auto-training methods in simultaneous interpretation. Practicing of simultaneous interpretation and interpretation with text.
Assessment methods
Practical oral examination. The student must also complete a course in the ELF (e-learning).
