Course objectives
The course is divided into eleven sections, each focusing on one aspect of Czech-Swedish relations. There are different chapters on Czech-Swedish relations throughout history. The course is supplemented by tests with deadlines, a number of mandatory assignments and discussion forums. At the end students here is a final test examining the level of knowledge acquired in the course. For successful completion of this course is required at least level A2.

  • • Czech and Swedish, common and different (society, studies, sport) • Czech-Swedish History I (Thirty Years War) • Czech-Swedish History II (from the 19th century, political representation, political processes) • Czech-Swedish political relations (diplomatic relations, Charta 77, Olof Palme) • Czech-Swedish Cultural Relations (literature, music) • Czech-Swedish Trade Relations (Business Sweden, Nordiska Föreningen) • Sweden in the Czech Republic (in Swedish folk memory, both tangible and intangible monuments) • Czech-Swedish (expatriate associations, Czech companies) • Swedes in the Czech Republic (interview with former Swedish Ambassador in Prague, Swedish emigrants) • Czechs in Sweden (famous Czech exiles - Comenius, Herbert Felix, Janouch and others) • Current events in Czech-Swedish relations • Final test
