Course objectives
In the end of the course the student will be able to describe the evolution of marxist thinkink in Czech literature between world wars, he will know the key notions and will be able to understand his methodology, as well as to use it in interpretation of pieces of art.

  • 5. dialectics strikes back (Eduard Urx)
  • 6. "the dispute of a generation" (Josef Hora)
  • 7. beginnings of socialist realism (Ivan Olbracht)
  • 8. trip to Soviet Union (Andrej Ždanov)
