The subject follows the subject CLDS_a18 Seminar for PhD students II. The course is primarily intended for students of specialization in the Historic languages of the Czech land.

Course objectives
Course aims:
- to enhance PhD student's skills in the context of Medieval Studies, which are at the focus of the doctoral dissertation;
- to enable the PhD student to choose adequate tools for working with concrete materials
- to check student's ability of practical application of the said basics on specific materials;
- to successively enhance student's skills and knowledge within the thematic scope of the specialization Medieval Languages.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course, the student shall:
- acquire methods and skills relevant for working in the field of Medieval Studies;
- assess the level of mastering these methods while working on specific materials;
- enhance their skills and knowledge in the context of Medieval Languages as thematic focus;
- apply the skills and knowledge they acquired within the wider specialization.
Syllabus
  • The student shall boost their knowledge of the principles of literary Medieval Studies; based on relevant literature, they shall analyse and interpret chosen texts; student shall resume their independent work.
