Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to selected texts of the French Enlightenment in order to deepen the knowledge acquired in the course History of Philosophy IV. Attention will focus on key categories of Enlightenment thought: the idea of progress, the natural state, the human spirit, and materialism.
Learning outcomes
Students will learn to interpret Enlightenment texts; interpret the categories of Enlightenment thought; think independently about the history of philosophy; and consciously construct the main features of progressive thought.

četba, interpretace, diskuse
Assessment methods (in Czech)
K absolvování předmětu je nutná osobní účast na semináři spojenou s aktivní účastí na interpretaci a diskusi (nemocní budou samozřejmě omluveni). Za každou absolvovanou hodinu dostanou studenti jeden černý bod. Je nutné během semestru nasbírat deset bodů. Pasivní nebo nezúčastnění studenti vypracují esej za každou neaktivní nebo neabsolvovanou hodinu. Esej bude mít 20 stran a bude zahrnovat 10 titulů cizojazyčné sekundární literatury.
