Abstract
Advanced Exam Preparation is a course focused on developing the language skills necessary to pass the Certificate in Advanced English exam, which is an advanced level Cambridge ESOL exam, at level C1 of the CEFR. The aim of this course is to give students the necessary grounding to enable them to pass the exam: your reading and listening comprehension will be improved, it covers grammar and vocabulary as well as focusing on writing techniques, vocabulary development and speaking skills. In addition, the course aims to improve your exam strategies and to prepare you for the five individual sections, which the exam comprises.
Learning outcomes
students will: approach each part of the exam in such a way as to maximise his/her score, successfully write the compulsory formal and informal letters and other essay formats, use advanced vocabulary and phrasal verbs, solve the grammar tasks in the Use of English section of the test

Credits will be awarded based on attendance - you must meet 80% attendance to be eligible. In the event of long term illness, please contact the course organiser.
