Course objectives
The seminar focuses on particular grammatical analyses of authentic Italian texts, covering a wide array of topics and a range of stylistic levels, devoting attention particularly to the specific characteristics of a given text.
Syllabus
  • The seminar aims to teach students to find their bearings concerning authentic Italian texts covering different topics and stylistic levels (contemporary literary works, news reports as well as popular non-fiction, business correspondence, etc), especially concerning working with grammatical analyses of such texts and in effect gaining a wider as well as deeper knowledge of the lexicon, morphology and syntax while being able to appreciate these aspects in a wider framework. Special attention is devoted to the specific means of expression found in the individual texts as well exploring the contemporary trends in Italian.

Credit – oral, based on the analysis of a given text. Once enrolled in the course, attendance is mandatory.
