Course objectives
The course aims to deepen and broaden the students' knowledge and skills in one or more areas of the Swedish language (depending on the focus of the students). Among other things, students will improve scientific knowledge and will be able to develop and present their own research in Swedish or in another Scandinavian language. The course gives attention to the differences in the language and language function at present. Attention will also be paid to the issue of gender in the language.

  • Language differences and changes and their connection with the structure of society (eg. age, gender, social groups, etc.) The position of the Swedish society on the background of social change The interaction between language and society - local vs. foreign influence Gender issues in language Swedish in an international perspective Oral and written presentations on linguistic, literary and social topics
