Course objectives
The aim is to obtain a sufficient understanding of the process of creating professional   text and learn to write diverse texts needed not only for university studies.
Syllabus
  • The topics
  • Professional writing at university - what, how and why to write
  • Typology and structure of texts - sentence , paragraph, chapter
  • Where and how to publish a scientific text - Archives thesis , professional journals , reviewing process
  • The process of writing - the choice of the topic, each phase of writing , the content and form of professional text (shorter units )
  • The process of writing - the choice of the topic, each phase of writing , the content and form of professional text ( larger units )
  • Search   various sources of information , the use of literature
  • Reduced text - its creation , types of use
  • Citation
  • Plagiarism and ethical aspects of professional work
  • Revise basic grammar - the most common grammatical errors
  • Critical thinking -   methods of work with scientific texts
