- Course objectives
- 1. Introduction. History of the Basque, history of Basque Country. 2. Sorginak. Romanization, gender and capitalism. 3. Eman ta zabal zazu. Arrantzales and whalers; conquerors and emigrants. 4. Bertsolaritza. Orality, literatura and body. 5. Baserria. Tradition, modernity and branding. 6. Basque cuisine. Sociability, kuadrilla, txokos and societies. 7. From steel to titanium. Industrialization and tertiarisation. 8. From Basque stone to Basque giggle. Irony and parody of a political conflict.
- Syllabus
- The lectures will make an introduction to analyze the context of different cultural expressions. Thru those lectures previously worked materials (audio, video, image, text). Therefore, participation and positive attitude are essential in this subject. The students conducted a final written individual work and they will have to demonstrate their knowledge of subject taught during the course.
