- Course objectives
- The course develops the knowledge competence of students gained in compulsory and elective subjects in the form of selected representative probes from current ethnological research. Their focus covers a broad spectrum - from the study of culture in earlier periods in the various social strata of the European environment to the contemporary cultural forms that are related both to traditional folk culture and to popular and mass culture. The course gives the opportunity to present the research results of the Institute's and doctoral students under the guidance of their trainers and is also open to practitioners who can offer ethnology graduates their research perspectives.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course the student should focus on selected thematic probes from the study of material and non-material culture of European space, should be able to distinguish the historical and social classification of selected cultural expressions, identify methods for their identification and research, analyze and interpret collected socio-cultural material.

- 1. Definition of the topic studied.
- 2. Historiographical overview of previous research.
- 3. Characteristics of field research and its results.
- 4. Analysis of collected material.
- 5. Interpretation of achieved results.
