- Course objectives
- One of the aims of the seminar is to familiarize the students with the consecutive interpretation, the consecutive without notes and with notes. The student will also have a basic knowledge of the simultaneous interpreation methods
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course Interpreting Seminar I, the student will have the knowledge on consecutive interpretation, on consecutive without notes and with notes. The student will also have a basic knowledge of the simultaneous interpretation methods.
- Syllabus
- 1) Familiarization with the most common types of interpreting 2) Training of consecutive interpretation (without notes and with notes) 3) Introduction to methods of self-tuition and of simultaneous interpretation.

- Teaching methods
- Acquisition of basic knowledge about the types of interpretation, and about the professional qualities of the interpreter. Self-training methods. Practicing of consecutive interpretation without notes and with notes-taking. Practicing of simultaneous interpretation.
- Assessment methods
- Practical oral examination of consecutive interpretation. On spring 2020 online at MS Teams; each student will dispose of approx. 20 minutes.
