Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the Roman archeology in the extent of the courses KLA_001 - Introduction to Classical Archaeology is obligated, accomplishment of the couses KLA_009, KLA_010, KLA_11, KLA_12 is convenient.

Abstract
The main objective of this course is to deepen student's knowledge on Roman archaeology (KLA_009, KLA_010, KLA_11, KLA_12) by the active engagement of students. Part of the seminar is the presentation of selected topics by the lecturer and the definition of principal scientific questions. Students will critically elaborate the required bibliography and try to make a comprehensive scientific analysis, including the formulation of their own hypotheses. Students should present their own research in a form of presentation at the microconference. Learning outcomes demonstrate students by a seminar work - either in the form of an essay or a poster of the appropriate quality.
Learning outcomes
After successfull passing the course, students will be able to:
- basic orientation in the individual spheres of research and topics
- analyse a sub-topic and present assigned papers in oral and written form
- organize their own learning, manage their workload and work
- active participate in the work of the seminar and make informed contributions to class discussion

  • Introduction and definition of thematic sphere related to the actual issues of Roman archeology (newly researched archaeological sites, discovered monuments and artifacts)
  • Individual homework of students on assigned papers, including the search for the latest bibliography
  • Students' mini-conferences with papers presentations and class discussions on the topics
