JPN220 Research Methods
The student registers this course in relation to the choice of the topic and the supervisor in JPN220. Before registering this course, it is necessary, to have selected the topic of the thesis, have it created inbuil the information system and get the supervisor's approval.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to build the framework of the thesis in a presentable way, introduce its key concepts, basic methods of the scientific work within the given field of research and to present it in front of teachers and colleagues in order to gain a valuable feedback in the first phase of the work.
The goal is to verify student's understanding of the selected topic, his/her abilities to present the fremework of the project and to defend the selected methods.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course the student is able to:
- clearly present a general outline and purpose of the thesis;
- define goals of his own thesis;
- describe formal structure of the thesis;
- defend the chosen methodology

Evaluation is based on individual consultations with the supervisor and subsequently on the final project presentation at the end of the course.
