Syllabus
  • The course will run as follows: a) In terms of content, we will read texts by three modern philosophers to give you experience in interpreting a text that most combined students lack. Thus, in the course materials in the IS you will find pdfs of the texts: meeting 1 - Bacon, meeting 2 - Descartes, meeting 3 - Locke. In each class we will read a few pages from each text together. You don't need to prepare anything, just have the relevant pdfs available.. b) The meetings will be held online in MS Teams. I have set up a team in the app and scheduled meetings for the appropriate dates as listed in the IS. c) The course will be considered completed based on activity in the online class: I expect students to be willing and able to engage in the interpretation of the submitted texts. If someone is unable to attend a meeting, they will write a short interpretive essay on the text discussed in the meeting.
