- Course objectives
- The course is intended primarily for students of translatology. It requires a good knowledge of Dutch and Czech, as well as a willingness to do more time-consuming homework.
- Learning outcomes
- The course Introduction to Subtitling (including subtitling for the hearing impaired) and briefly introduces you to other areas of work (audiobooks for the blind, voices, film interpreting, theatre subtitling). By the end of the course, the student should be able to subtitle correctly and identify any transgressions against subtitling guidelines. The course also aims to motivate participants to choose subtitling as a topic for their thesis.

- 1. Introduction to subtitling, social and legal aspects of subtitling, freely distributable Subtitle Workshop 6, presentation topics, ways to finish the course 2. Dialogue simplification and reduction 3. Spoken and written language 4. Corpora and some Google search tricks 5. Dubbing and subtitles. Comparison. 6. Limits of creativity and word games. Suggestions for your exams and thesis projects 7. Individual student presentations I (D-H) 8. Individual student presentations II (J-L) 9. Individual student presentations III (M-P) 10.
