Abstract
The purpose of the course is to give an overview of methods in conversation analysis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, a student should be able to :
- identify and summarize the topics studied ;
- give a class presentation on an analysis of a given conversation;
- write an essay deepening one of the studied topics in the semester.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Mainly lectures, class discussion, group projects.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
10-15 minute in-class talk on a topic of your choice, to be given alone or in groups (3 maximum) + an essay on the same topic to be written at the end of the semester.
