Abstract
The course is designed as a short-term intensive block course of the "Blended Intensive Programme" (BIP) type. Its content is a contrastive study of the grammatical features of Spanish and West Slavic languages. The aim is to familiarize students with the basic methodological principles applied in the contrastive study of grammatical categories of their native language and the foreign language being studied, in this case Spanish. An added value is the participation of students and lecturers who are speakers of other West Slavic languages, namely Slovak and Polish. The course thus deepens mutual understanding between closely related Slavic languages and outlines the possibilities of levelling strategies between closely related languages in everyday communication.
