- Course objectives
- History of the Zoological institute. Department of zoology and ecology - research divisions and fields of work (animal ecology, systematic zoology, hydrobiology, parasitology, entomology, vertebrate zoology, ethology). University grant and other grants bestowed for projects. Diploma theses and PhD. theses. PhD. students and their working results. Methods of use of the literature and further information sources. Preparation a short scientific reports, papers.

- 1. Description of the scientific work (according to working positions) 2. Preparation of a project proposal 3. Experiments (design and analysis) 4. Scientific papers (title, abstract, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion) 5. Communications (poster, oral presentation, graphical tools in PowerPoint and Corel) 6. Preparation of the Master thesis 7. Literature (sources on the Internet, library services) 8. Presentation of the Division of invertebrates 9. Presentation of the Division of vertebrates 10. Presentation of the Division of parasitology 11. Presentation of the Division of hydrobiology
