Výuka je určena zájemcům o obor molekulární biotechnologie. Předpokladem zapsání předmětu je zkouška z předmětu Molekulární biologie(Bi4020) a Obecná mikrobiologie (Bi4090).

Course objectives
Relationship between chemical production and biotechnologies. Molecular biotechnology. Preparation of recombinant DNA molecules. Use of cloning vectors. Artificial gene transfer. Selection of cells with recombinant DNA. Amplification of foreign DNA. Creating and screening of genomic libraries. Chemical synthesis of DNA and peptides.DNA chips production. Manipulation of gene expression. Isolation of functional promotores. Regulatable promotors. Fusion proteins. Translation expression vectors. Increasing of protein stability. Characterisation of microorganisms used for heterologous protein production. Directed mutagenesis and protein engineering. Production of compounds using genetically modificated microorganisms (GMO).Enzymic catalysis in anhydrous solvents. Determination of identity and the purity of recombinant proteins. Regulation of the use of GMO.
