  • 1. Strucuture an properties of wood. Macroscopical and microscopical composition structure of wood. Chemical composition of wood. Physical and mechanical properties of wood. Wood dating. 2. Wood damaging (biological, insects, chemical and atmospherical agents). Negative influence of high temepratures. 3. Conservation of wood. Protecting from biological attack. Material used for cementation of wood. Fire-protective means. Technological ways of wood impregnation. Wood construction elements and its restoration. 4. Conservation of water-saturated and archeological wood. Dehydratation and cementation by non-aqueous solutions of special substances, aqueous solutions of cementing agents. Cementation by radiation polymerization of monomers. 5. Treatment of wood surfaces. Polychromy. Gilding. Encaustics. Pickling. Incrustation. Veneering. Sorts of lacquers used for surface treatment. Determination of lacquer properties. 6. Leather, hide, parchment. Their structure and physico-chemical properties. History of their production. Production of hides and parchment. Reason of damaging. 7. Conservation and restoration of parchment. Cleaning. Neutralization, levelling. Removing of clarity. Reparations - lamination, mending, filling, cementation.
