Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: understand and explain the basic immunological technics; work with information on important current immunological methods used in immunological labs and in research; create reasoned decisions about immunological problems in diagnosis; make reasoned decisions about immunological pro blems in diagnosis; make deductions based on acquired knowledge of immunological methods; interpret immunological methods;
Syllabus
  • 1. lecture: organizaction of lectures and practice course; Methods used in clinical praxis; Sérological method (precipitation, immunodiffusion, immunoelectrophoretic, agglutination hemagglutination, complement methods, immunoblotting)
  • 2. lecture: elongation of serological methods, nephelometry, turbidimetry
  • 3. lecture: immuno-chemical methods, RIA, FIA, EIA
  • 4. lecture: EIA method in detail, ELISA
  • 5. lecture: ELISA method in detail, different kinds of ELISA, workshop of home-made ELISY
  • 6. lecture: a) work with the immune system cell, the determination of leukocyte populations and their function b) special in vitro tests- tests for examination of leukocyte populations and their function, tests of lymphocyte proliferationci, test of lymphocyte transphormation test, investigation of HLA antigens
  • 7. lecture: Alergological investigation

Teaching methods
Theoretically formulation for management of the immunological technics, which are used in praxis; presentations by professionals in the form of intership programme in private immunological and experimental labs.
Assessment methods
The students participation at lectures is demanded. The final clafficiation will be in the form of written test at the end of term .
