Abstract
Students should be able to cultivate, identify and manipulate yeast cells. They will find out about cell morphology during mating and meiotic processes. They should be able to prepare special protoplast cultures (which are necessary for DNA and protein extracts preparation).

At the end of this course, students will be able to cultivate, identify and manipulate yeast cells. They will find out about cell morphology during mating and meiotic processes. They will be able to prepare special protoplast cultures (which re necessary for DNA and protein extracts preparation).

Microscopy of yeast cell. Cell wall. Preparation of spheroplasts and protoplasts. Yeast mating and sporulation.
