Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic technologies that influence the environment, as well as with selected instruments of environmental protection.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand the environmental impact of anthropogenic technologies
- describe the main types of technologies which affect the environment
- understand the main technological principles for the providing of clean air, water treatment and purification
- characterize and discuss the principles of the best available techniques and best environmental practices and also to the disposal of the persistent substances and waste with their contents
- know the methods applicable for the remediation of contaminated soils and sediments

  • II. Tools in promoting the interests of environmental protection
  • II.1. - Options for promoting the interests of environmental protection and waste control ChIP at the international level, the global goals
  • II.1.1. - Areas of interest and goals for environmental protection
  • II.1.2. - Multinational organization promoting the interests of environmental protection and health programs aimed at promoting policies on the environment
  • II.1.3. - International conventions and treaties (Stockholm Convention, Rotterdam Convention, the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol, selected regional conventions - accident prevention, remote air pollution)
  • II.2. - Legislation EU and the Czech Republic
  • II.2.1. - Focus and structure of legislation in the field of environmental regulation and management of ChIP
